BOLINAS — A youth football coach has been arrested on suspicion of possessing child pornography. The suspect is being held in custody at Marin County Jail in lieu of $1 million bond.
His arrest is part of an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office. This inquiry was launched in response to a tip received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
This tip concerned the online transmission of nude photographs of minors. Investigators determined this activity originated from inside a home located in Bolinas.
Detectives identified the suspect as 72-year-old John B. Delorimier, who is a resident of Bolinas. The suspect is a self-identified football coach for Marin County youth leagues and schools.
On January 10, Delorimier was arrested at 6:25 a.m., as he was attempting to leave his residence. Detectives were just arriving to execute a warrant to search his home.
Evidence recovered from his home includes electronic devices containing obscene images of minors. None are believed to be children from Marin County, according to a prepared statement from the sheriff’s office.
Delorimier presently faces open charges for possession of obscene material of minors under 14 years of age. Meanwhile, evidence recovered in this case is due to undergo additional forensic examination.
Delorimier is an artist, whose portfolio focuses on drawings and paintings of football players, surfers and other athletes.
