A recent arrest in Colfax was reported by the Placer County Sheriff’s Office –
“Placer County Sheriff’s Deputy Temores was patrolling the Colfax area Monday morning, when he spotted a vehicle drive by with expired registration tags. He pulled the car over and approached the driver’s side door, where he instantly noticed the wafting smell of marijuana coming from inside the car.
When questioned about the smell, the driver, 28-year old Kelsey Stilwell of Oakland, explained she had just come from helping her friend trim some of their marijuana plants. Deputy Temores also noticed three 5-gallon buckets in the back of Stilwell’s car. Upon searching Stilwell’s car, Deputy Temores discovered 17 pounds of marijuana, a large amount of cash and notebooks containing handwritten notes about marijuana cultivation.
Stilwell was arrested and charged with possession cannabis for sale and transportation of cannabis for sale. She has since been released from jail.”
