Ventura County – For the past few weeks, Simi Valley resident 52-year-old George Wayne Fink has been going about his business apparently unaware that his every move was being observed by law enforcement.
According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Det. Sgt. Eduardo Malagon, detectives attached to the VCSD Narcotics Street Team “obtained information Fink was selling heroin to residents of Ventura County” in early January 2020.
From that point forward, detectives “developed enough information” that conclusively lead them to conclude that Fink was indeed purveying heroin throughout Simi Valley.
A search warrant was issued on January 15th, and the cops wasted no time before serving it upon Fink’s residence. It was mid-afternoon when detectives made contact with Fink at his home and quickly determined that he was at that time “under the influence of a controlled substance.”
Fink was detained at the scene while detectives conducted a search of the residence. That search lead to the discovery of “various quantities of heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, and paraphernalia indicative of narcotics sales.”
The contraband was taken into evidence, as well as an unspecified quantity of cash presumed to be the product of Fink’s ongoing narcotics sales. A further search of the home continued, leading the cops to discover three firearms, none of which were registered to Fink, one of which had been reported stolen.
The guns and drugs were all seized and Fink was transported to Ventura County East Valley Jail, where he was booked on multiple charges of narcotics sales and firearms violations, with his bail set at $50,000.
