Woman with 3 Outstanding Warrants Caught while Shoplifting Lingerie
SAN RAFAEL — A woman with a fondness for expensive lingerie and three outstanding warrants was arrested on January 22. She is suspected of shoplifting from at least two Victoria’s Secrets stores.
Harmonie Taylor, a 26-year-old resident of San Jose, was nabbed shortly after she drove away from Northgate Mall. She’s suspected of being the shoplifter who evaded police after recently stealing merchandise from the same store.
A patrol officer recognized the descriptions of the suspect and car associated with a shoplifting incident last week. That time the suspect got away without being located.
This time an officer who patrols near Northgate Mall located the suspect’s car driving north on Las Gallinas Avenue. The officer followed it and conducted a traffic stop on the 1800 block of Lincoln Avenue.
Taylor insisted she hadn’t been at any stores at Northgate Mall, but the officer knew otherwise. In fact, there was a Victoria’s Secret bag on the floor behind the front passenger seat.
As she was exiting the vehicle as requested, the officer noticed her fidgeting with something. Taylor was apparently attempting to hide two identity cards and fool the officer with an alias—without success.
Next, her car was searched where nearly $6,000 worth of stolen merchandise was located. These items all from Victoria’s Secret still had price tags on them.
Taylor allegedly stole more than $2,700 worth of merchandise from the one store located in Northgate Mall. The rest of the items came from another yet to be determined Victoria’s Secret store or stores.
Meanwhile, Taylor was booked at Marin County Jail on eight charges.
