The Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Office recently issed this release about a arrest for man with illegal firearms –
“At the end of December Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Enforcement Team served a search warrant at an apartment in Soquel belonging to Thomas Haggett.
During the search two illegally modified firearms were found, including a sawed off shotgun bringing it under the required length and a suppressed rifle, but Haggett was out of state at the time.
Last week Haggett returned to Santa Cruz County and members of the Narcotics Enforcement Team and Gang Enforcement Team, with assistance from Santa Cruz Police, took Haggett into custody without incident and he was booked in to the Santa Cruz County Jail.
During his arrest, he was found to have a loaded handgun, unloaded rifle and large amount of ammunition and magazines with him.”
