“We are aware of the increased numbers of property crime, including car burglaries, in Benicia and the surrounding communities. To help combat it, our officers are doing even more proactive work as they patrol this city.
At about 1:28 a.m. Saturday, one of our officers saw a green Dodge Caravan with paper plates in the 4700 block of Industrial Way. He conducted a traffic stop and made contact with all four occupants, who were all from out of town. They couldn’t give a good reason why they were in Benicia and one of the men was found to be on parole. As the officer searched the vehicle, he located several burglary tools, empty garbage bags and gloves.
The Oakland man was arrested and booked into the Solano County jail. For more information of the arrest, visit: http://pdpresslog.ci.benicia.ca.us/Daily_Activity_Report.pdf
This arrest was more than likely prevented some vehicle or business burglaries. Let’s work together and as always notify us if you see something suspicious!”
