Ventura County – The Oxnard Police Department is on the job in its mission to preserve the community’s domestic tranquility, protect children, and enforce society’s legislated moral principles.
Evidence of that came on the morning of February 5th when a search warrant was served at the residence of 19-year-old Oxnard resident Ernesto Reyna. According to Oxnard Police Department spokesman Det. Kevin Adair, a member of the OPD’s Family Protection Unit, Reyna had been “suspected of procuring and distributing child pornography” since November, 2019.
Since that time, detectives with the Family Protection Unit, working with the Southern California High Tech Task Force, actively investigated Reyna’s online activity and gathered evidence of ongoing criminal activity as it related to his “possession of child pornography and participating in its distribution.”
Immediately following the service of the search warrant at his home, Reyna was taken into custody and transported to Ventura County Jail. He was then booked on charges of possessing and intending to distribute child pornography, with his bail set at $50,000.
The investigation into Reyna’s activities is ongoing, with a request for anyone having additional information about him to contact the Oxnard Police Department Family Protection Unit at (805) 385-7663.
