Police in San Francisco have arrested two individuals in connection to a recent spate of auto burglaries.
Central Station plainclothes officers responded to the 100 block of Jefferson Street just before 3 PM on Monday, January 27, to investigate a reported auto burglary. They spotted the suspect vehicle at the Palace of Fine Arts, where the suspects committed a second auto burglary.
Due to concern for public safety, officers chose to conduct rolling surveillance on the suspects rather than attempting an arrest.
The suspects then drove to the Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Center parking lot, where they burglarized three more vehicles.
Officers again followed them to their next location — the Stonestown movie theater parking lot. Here they decided it was time to make the arrests.
As officers approached the vehicle, both suspects fled on foot but were quickly apprehended nonetheless.
31-year-old Jared Wilson of San Francisco was booked on suspicion of five counts of second-degree burglary, five counts of possession of stolen property, conspiracy, two counts of fraudulent use of license plates, intercepting police radio broadcasts to further the commission of a crime, resisting arrest, and committing a crime while on bail or own recognizance.
21-year-old Delvon Carter of San Francisco was booked on suspicion of five counts of burglary, five counts of possession of stolen property, conspiracy, two counts of fraudulent use of license plates, intercepting police radio broadcasts to further the commission of a crime, resisting arrest, possession of a burglary tool, and driving on a suspended license.
Police recovered over forty articles of stolen property and other evidence, including a police scanner. The suspects’ vehicle also had differing plates on the front and rear, both having been taken from other vehicles.
