The Chico Police Department released this story on their official Facebook page –
“On Tuesday, 01/28/2020 at approximately 10:00 AM, Chico Police Officers responded to the Wal-Mart parking lot in Chico regarding subjects injecting heroin and losing consciousness inside of a parked white colored Toyota Scion.
Police officers arrived and contacted the occupants, MATHEW MACDONALD (30) and MARIAH HALVORSON (28). Officers observed narcotics and narcotic paraphernalia in the vehicle.
Upon further investigation, Officers located hundreds of items of mail, including; tax information, credit card information, and bank statements, from addresses spanning from Sutter County to Shasta County.
MACDONALD and HALVORSON were found to be in possession of burglary tools, including master mailbox keys. The suspects and their vehicle were linked to additional reports of mail theft and bank fraud throughout the North State area. MacDonald and Halverson were arrested for the following crimes:
Possession of ID of 10 Or More Persons with Intent to Defraud
Possession of Known Stolen Property
Possession of Controlled Substance: Heroin
Conspiracy
Possession of Burglary Tools
