The Riverside Police Department release that it is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Valentine’s Day –
Riverside, CA – “On Friday, February 14, 2020, at approximately 10:53 p.m., the City of Riverside’s Public Safety Communications Center received multiple calls of a shooting that just occurred outside the Marriott Hotel, located in the 3400 block of Market Street in Riverside. Riverside Police Officers responded and located a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
Paramedics with the Riverside Fire Department and American Medical Response performed lifesaving measures at the scene, then transported him to a local hospital. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries and died.
Preliminary investigation revealed the victim was walking to his parked car after an event when the unknown suspect fired gunshots, striking him several times. The suspect fled the scene prior to the officers’ arrival.
Detectives with the Robbery – Homicide Unit, along with Specialists from the Forensics Unit, responded and assumed the investigation. They are being assisted by the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office. The victim has been identified as Grant Leggette Sr., 57-years-old of Rubidoux.
