The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of an individual on weapons charges
“On February 18, the Sheriff’s Office arrested a man for multiple gun and drug charges. Detectives had been investigating Kody Ambrose, 33 years old, Santa Rosa for drug sales.
At approximately 2:00 pm, detectives and patrol deputies, assisted by Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Agents, served a search warrant at his home in the 2100 block of Waltzer Road in Santa Rosa.
Upon searching Ambrose’s bedroom, peace officers found two guns, high capacity magazines, and live ammunition. Ambrose has multiple prior felony convictions and has a restraining order against him, which prohibits him from possessing guns, ammunition, or magazines. One of the guns was a .45 caliber MAC-10 machine pistol and the other was anAK-47 style short-barreled rifle with a pistol grip. Both guns are illegal in California.
At 1:23 pm that day, a deputy stopped Ambrose while he was driving on a suspended driver’s license. During a search of his car, deputies found cocaine, a digital scale, and packaging material.
Ambrose was booked into the Sonoma County Jail for felony charges of possession of an assault weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of a short barrel rifle, and possession and transportation of cocaine for sale. Ambrose’s bail was enhanced to $500,000 because of his charges.”
