WALLACE – The Marijuana Enforcement Unit of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at a residence int he 10000 block of Crystal Drive on February 18.
Once inside, investigators discovered an additional enclosure containing three rooms had been attached to the main residence and each of the rooms was being used for marijuana cultivation.
The garage also had four separate areas used for marijuana cultivation.
The mites infesting some of the plants were being treated with an insecticide called Chlorfenapyr, which is “prohibited for us one commercial cannabis cultivation.
1,057 marijuana plants and 35 pounds of processed marijuana was destroyed. The investigation continues and no arrests have yet been made.
The site was red-tagged due to dangerous unpermitted electrical modifications and unsafe structural modifications.
