VALLEJO – On the afternoon of Monday February 24th a deputy with the Solano County Sheriff’s Office saw a Mitsubishi Galant with a false registration sticker on the license plate.
In fact, the Galant had not been registered for over a year. The driver, 33-year-old Jamar Davis, had no explanation for this fact.
As the process continued, Davis going to be issued a citation for Expired Registration, Displaying False Tabs and the Mitsubishi was going to be towed.
Before the Galant was towed away, Deputy Pena ensured a proper inventory of the Mitsubishi was conducted. During the inventory, Deputy Pena located a loaded “Glock” 9mm handgun (with an altered serial number) and an additional loaded 50-Round 9mm drum.
Davis was detained and, after it was discovered he was on active probation, was placed under arrest. He was arrested for violating his probation and for an array of new weapon /ammunition violations.
The SCSO concludes, “There’s nothing “routine” about traffic stops! You never really know, who or what you may find. We are extremely thankful this incident ended peacefully. Great team-work, Team 1!”
