POINT REYES STATION — Detectives with the Marin County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a man on suspicion of possession of child pornography. Thousands of obscene images of children were recovered during a raid at the man’s residence.
His arrest stems from a tip received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. This organization works with law enforcement and provides services to deter and combat child sexual exploitation.
In this case, authorities were informed that a suspect was soliciting, sharing and/or receiving photos and videos of children. Based on the evidence examined thus far, all the victims apparently live outside of Marin County.
Detectives examining evidence traced activity online and determined the location where this activity was occurring. They identified 21-year-old Dailyn L. Gutierrez as the suspect, who is a resident of Point Reyes Station.
A search warrant was executed at his residence on February 26, and Gutierrez was taken into custody. A substantial amount of evidence was recovered, which will undergo more extensive digital forensic examination.
However, preliminary examination of the suspect’s personal devices uncovered thousands of images of child pornography. These included pictures and videos depicting children in various obscene ways.
Gutierrez was immediately arrested. He was booked into Marin County Jail, where he was held for $10,000 bond prior to being released.
Gutierrez presently faces charges for possession or control of child pornography.
