Redding man allegedly shot at son during altercation

A Redding man has been arrested after allegedly shooting at his own adult son during an altercation.

Officers responded to the 1700 block of Henry Avenue just before 9 PM on March 20th, where they learned that 57-year-old Alonzo Shoulders and his son, Michael (32), had gotten into a physical fight during a family dinner.

Police say that at some point, Alonzo retrieved a gun from a nearby bedroom and fired at Michael several times.

Michael, who was not injured, was soon able to get the gun away from his father and flee in his vehicle.

Alonzo was treated for injuries sustained during the fight before being booked on suspicion of attempted homicide, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, domestic battery, and negligent discharge of a firearm.
