The Riverside Police Department official Facebook page reports a sad story of a vehicle passenger dying as the result of a DUI collision –
“RIVERSIDE – On Sunday, March 29, 2020, at approximately 4:18 a.m., Riverside Police and Fire responded to Pachappa Drive and Jurupa Avenue reference a major injury traffic collision.
The preliminary investigation revealed a 1999 Infiniti G20, being driven by a 21-year-old Riverside resident, was traveling east on Jurupa Ave. when it failed to negotiate the curve at Pachappa Dr., hitting a stop sign and a light pole. The passenger succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver showed objective symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. Harrison Mendoza, 21-years-old of Riverside, was treated for his injuries and booked into the county jail for gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI.
Officers from the Riverside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) were called to the scene and are currently investigating.
