POMONA – The Pomona Transit Center is a veritable hub of transportation activity in the center of town. The current Covid-19 Pandemic may have lessened the number of commuters travelling to and fro, but some activities remain, to the chagrin of the locals.
Pomona PD’s Special Investigations Unit-Investigative Services Division (SIU) had received numerous calls to head over to 100 W. Commercial St, Pomona CA 91766 (Pomona Transit Center) regarding suspicious ongoing activity resembling drug sales.
As a result, SIU commenced surveillance on Thursday, April 9th, 2020 at 11:18 AM. “SIU Investigators began to monitor an occupied vehicle parked north of the Transit Center,” said SIU Corporal Paul Lucifora.
“Investigators watched as subjects would walk up to the vehicle and exchange items with the driver of the vehicle through the window.” A traffic stop on the vehicle and contact ID’d the driver as David Ramirez Sr. (60) of Montclair.
“Investigators found that S-Ramirez was in possession of numerous balloons containing heroin and U.S. currency in various denominations; indicative of narcotics sales,” said Corporal Lucifora. “S-Ramirez admitted that he was at the Pomona Transit Center to sell heroin and has been doing so for the last couple of months.”
An immediate arrest took place. “S-Ramirez will be charged with HS 11351 (Possession of a controlled substance for sales) and HS 11352(A) (Transportation of a controlled substance for sales,)” added Corporal Lucifora.
