A suspected intoxicated driver has been arrested after allegedly leading Hollister police on a pursuit that ended in a crash last week.
Police dispatch received a call about a woman — later identified as 37-year-old Catrina Rose Molina of Gilroy — driving recklessly near Santa Ana Road and SR Highway 95 at around 4:15 PM on Wednesday, April 8.
An officer in the area spotted the vehicle based on the description provided by dispatch and attempted a traffic stop, but Molina kept going, running a red light in the process and eventually heading eastbound on Sunnyslope Road.
The pursuit eventually continued onto northbound Fairview Road at speeds of up to 100 MPH, with more officers and San Benito County deputies joining the chase, but came to an abrupt end when Molina crashed into a parked car.
Despite trying to flee the scene on foot, she was quickly apprehended.
Molina was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the collision, then booked at the San Benito County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, and evading.
