The Santa Cruz Police Department relates this interesting story via their official Facebook page that had its start in a Covid-19 restriction check –
Last week, Ranger Crawford contacted a subject for a shelter in place violation at Mike Fox skate park and noticed in his possession were construction tools marked in sharpie with “Bogard Construction.” The suspect claimed someone paid him a hundred dollars to hold them for him. That story did not add up.
Ranger Gates called Bogard Construction and got the owner on the phone. Mr. Bogaard stated the tools were just stolen from their job site. He came down to the skate park and picked up $1300 worth of tools. Awesome! Mr. Bogaard also thanked SCPD and Ranger Crawford for recovering our stolen power tools! Both Ranger Crawford and @chipbogaard are smiling under their masks.
