Within just a couple of hours on April 16, officers with the Milpitas Police Department recovered three stolen vehicles and arrested 3 suspects for the crimes.
First, close to 6:00 p.m., an officer on patrol spotted a 2018 Dodge Challenger that had been reported stolen on April 13.
27-year-old Cody Allen Ward and 36-year-old Jana Christine Cornehl were detained and later arrested.
Inside the car there was stolen property, meth, paraphernalia and a stun gun.
Ward was booked for auto theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, burglary, stolen property and paraphernalia. He was already on active parole for burglary and on probation for auto theft and burglary.
Cornehl was booked for possession of meth and being a convicted felon in possession of a stun gun.
Not even ten minutes later, 41-year-old Sandra Yip drove a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado, that had earlier been reported stolen, to the Milpitas Police Department. She was the arrested for driving a stolen vehicle.
Finally, at 8:05 p.m., 35-year-old David Keo was stopped as he drove a stolen 2011 Toyota Prius that had been taken earlier in the day from San Jose. He also had meth and paraphernalia. He was charged with auto theft and drug offenses.
