A man entering a vacant residence rose suspicions and Visalia Police officers were called to investigate.
Officers pulled up to the house located near Lovers Lane and Arkle Street about 4 PM on April 23, 2020.
They located the suspect, 36-year old Kevin Lehne of Visalia, in a truck inside the closed garage.
Lehne was not convinced to step out of the truck and instead drove through the closed garage door, seemingly swerving toward officers.
Officers followed Lehne until Lovers Lane and Mill Creek Parkway where he abandoned the truck and sheltered inside a residence. He eventually surrendered.
Lehne was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, burglary during a state of emergency, custodial institutional burglary, hit and run driving, reckless driving, and a parole violation. As of the time of this writing, he is in custody at the Bob Wiley Detention Facility with bail set at $360,000.
