Two people have been arrested after allegedly attacking and robbing their friend at her apartment in Ukiah last week.
Deputies responded to the 3300 block of North State Street on the night of April 23 to investigate a possible robbery.
The alleged victim told them that her two friends, Stewart Conley (45) and Moecuhzoma Vaughn (34), had robbed her the night before after accusing her of stealing their heroin and keeping it hidden on her person.
The victim said she stood up to show she didn’t have any drugs on her, at which point Vaughn allegedly punched her in the face.
Conley and Vaughn are accused of then breaking the victim’s TV and stealing multiple items from the apartment before leaving.
Deputies learned the two were staying at a motel on North State Street. At the motel, they found the pair’s vehicle and heard movement inside their room, but were given no response when they asked to come in.
They did find an open window, however, and looked inside and ordered the two to open the door — which they did.
Vaughn was handcuffed and put into a car without incident. Conley, on the other hand, began resisting and reportedly had to be forced to the ground before he would cooperate.
In searching the couple’s room and vehicle, deputies found items consistent with what was reported stolen during the previous night’s robbery.
Conley was booked on suspicion of second-degree robbery, conspiracy, and resisting by force or violence, and Vaughn on suspicion of second-degree robbery and conspiracy.
