A recent shooting has prompted the Hollister Police Department to release details in an effort to secure an arrest or arrests of the shooter(s) –
“HOLLISTER – May 9th, 2020 – On May 8th, 2020, at 6:11 pm, Hollister Police officers responded to Jessie’s Gas at 710 San Benito St. regarding the report of a shots being fired. Several callers reported to 9-1-1 that there was a fight at that location that had resulted in people possibly being shot.
When officers arrived, officers located a crime scene and discovered the gunshot victims had been transported by a private vehicle to Hazel Hawkins Hospital. Two 18 year old males were treated for gunshot wounds, flown to a trauma center, and were in serious condition at the time of this press release.
In the moments immediately following the initial report of a shooting, officers located a vehicle that matched the description of one of the involved vehicles in the fight and shooting. Ulysses Urbina was detained as the driver of that vehicle, and was later arrested for crimes related to the initial fight call. Urbina is not believed to be the shooting suspect. Urbina was lodged at the San Benito County Jail on a single count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Conspiracy to Commit a Crime.
Investigators are seeking anyone who may have information related to this investigation. Specifically, the Department is seeking information about a newer model, dark colored 4-door sedan that was seen leaving the area and was occupied by the other parties involved in the altercation and shooting.”
