HIGH DESERT – An online advertisement caught the eye of investigators with the Human Trafficking Task Force on April 30. The task force believed that a juvenile may be involved in the “commercialized sex industry,” being advertised at a motel.”
An undercover operation located the victim as she stood near a vehicle with two males and a female inside.
Investigators detained all the individuals and then determined that they were together. Further investigation of the four followed at the City of Victorville Police station.
It was determined that the first victim was 21 years old and the second victim was 20 years old. Both were involved in the commercial sex industry.
24-year-old Jamal Djuan Allen and 26-year-old Joseph Burnell Gaines were arrested for pimping and pandering.
The SBSD summarizes that “Allen is currently being held in lieu of $200,000 dollars bail, while Gaines is being held in lieu of $300,000 bail.”
In addition, “Both victims were rescued, provided access to services and safely released from the police station.”
