HOLLSITER – A shooting occurred here on May 8 at Jesse’s Gas at 710 San Benito Street in which two people were injured.
The report was that a fight happened at the location that resulted in gunfire.
Arriving officers initially came upon no one involved in the altercation.
Later, Ulysses Urbin was detained and later arrested “for crimes related to the initial fight call.” He was not the shooting suspect. However, he was booked on a count of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy.
The two victims were eventually discovered and contacted at a local hospital.
Witnesses and surveillance camera video next helped in the investigation. An address was developed belonging to the vehicle seen driving away.
On May 14 a search was conducted at the residence on the 400 block of Rajkovich way. Investigators concluded that the occupants had not been in the residence since the shooting.
In the meantime detectives collected evidence from the residence.
Then detectives contacted a family member of the suspected shooter. This family member helped to secure the cooperation of two people who agreed to come to the police department.
18-year-old Manuel Juarez was booked into jail and a 17-year-old juvenile was booked into Juvenile Hall. The charge for both was attempted murder.
