The possession of child pornography is a crime, and in March the “Trinity County Interagency Major Investigations Team (TIMIT)” started investigating the access of such material on computers in their county.
The execution of numerous search warrants, both at residences and at ISPs (Internet Service Providers) led to the arrest of 47-year-old Lewiston resident Homer Purcell Jr.
A search warrant was served on May 18 at Purcell’s residence. Various items, “mostly electronic in nature,” were seized.
During a conversation with Purcell, the suspect admitted that child pornograpy would be found “on some of his electronic devices.”
Purcell has an “earlier conviction for possession of Child Pornography and remains a Registered Sex Offender within Trinity County.”
He was charged with possession of child pornography with an earlier conviction.
