DEL NORTE – On May 21 a homicide occurred in Cave Junction, Oregon and a BOLO (be on the lookout) was issued to Del Norte County for the vehicle that the suspect in the homicide was driving.
Authorities believed that the suspect was armed with an assualt rifle as he drove.
Then, at 11:00 a.m. on Highway 101, a vehicle that matched the description of the suspect vehicle was spotted heading south.
In addition, the license plate on the vehicle matched that of the BOLO vehicle.
Thankfully, with various law enforcement agencies participating, a traffic stop ensued and the suspect was detained without incident.
22-year-old Deymon Edwards was detained at the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office, aat the request of the Oregon State Police.
Edwards was interviewed by the OSP and booked on murder charges. He will be extradited back to Oregon.
Back in Oregon, 43-year-old Devin Tandy died from a gunshot wound.
It was Tandy’s car that Edwards was driving.
Edwards was charged with murder, burglary, robbery, unlawful use of a vehicle and theft.
