The Corona Police Department offical Facebook page tells the story of one night on their streets when three arrests occurred –
“Good afternoon Corona. From 7:00 am, Friday the 22th, until 7:00 am Tuesday the 26th, we responded to 1055 incidents. Included in these calls for service and pro-active patrols were 70 alarm calls, 27 area checks, 53 disturbance calls, 161 property checks, and 17 welfare checks. Officers arrested 23 persons for various crimes during the same time frame.
On Friday, May 22th, at about 2:00 pm, officers responded to the 2600 block of Rimpau Avenue reference a robbery that had just occurred. A suspect pointed a handgun at the victim and stole the victim’s bicycle.
At about 3:40 pm, the suspect was located by an RSO deputy in the El Cerrito area. The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Diego Deal of Corona, found in possession of an airsoft gun, and arrested for robbery.
On Saturday, May 23rd, at about 7:45 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling in the 200 block of S. Lincoln Avenue. The driver, 23-year-old Abel Haro from Pomona was driving while using his cellphone.
A records check showed Haro had a felony warrant out for his arrest for fraud. A sawed-off shotgun was located inside the vehicle. Haro was arrested for the felony warrant and possession of a sawed-off shotgun.
On Sunday, May 24th, at about 1:00 am, an officer noticed a vehicle without any license plates driving to the rear of a business in the 1700 block of W. Sixth Street.
The vehicle matched the description of a recently reported stolen vehicle. A records check of the vehicle identification number confirmed the vehicle had been reported as stolen. The driver, 32-year-old Fady Sohby from Corona, was arrested for vehicle theft.”
