SAN ANSELMO — A driver with prior DUI convictions was arrested for his 9th DUI following a three-vehicle collision. His latest run-in with the law happened on May 26.
The collision occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m., near a school on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. No injuries were reported, but this major thoroughfare was closed for about 90 minutes, as a result of the accident.
Adam D. Grubb, 24 of San Anselmo, was arrested by Central Marin Police Authority. Grubb was allegedly intoxicated. He appeared gaunt for a man of his size—6 feet tall and weighing only 135 pounds.
Initially, he told the police that he was a passenger, and that the driver had fled. However, witnesses identified him as the person who was driving.
For his actions, Grubb was booked at Marin County Jail, although he is presently no longer in custody. Grubb has been in and out of jail for DUI arrests since May 2016.
Grubb now faces revocation of probation for two prior DUI convictions. His latest charges include operating a vehicle while on probation, DUI alcohol/drugs, and resisting/obstructing/delaying an officer.
In January, Grubb was arrested for driving with a suspended license for drunk driving and DUI alcohol/drugs. Grubb had three DUI arrests in 2018, one DUI arrest in 2017, and three DUI arrests in 2016.
In addition, Grubb has prior arrests for domestic violence, child endangerment, kidnapping, and lewd acts upon a child.
