The San Jose Police Department reports of a recent stabbing death on El Grande Drive –
“San Jose — On Sunday, May 24, 2020, at about 2:33 PM, San Jose police officers responded to the 3600 block of El Grande Drive in San Jose on a welfare check. Arriving officers located an adult female victim inside the residence suffering from at least one stab wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
56-year-old suspect Gregory Hoppe was taken into custody at the scene and later booked into Santa Clara County Jail for murder. There are no outstanding suspects and the motive is still under investigation. The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after they confirm the victim’s identity and notify next to kin.
