OAKLAND — A man with a violent history was arrested for allegedly stabbing a fellow passenger on a BART train. This is the third time the same suspect has been arrested for an assault with a deadly weapon.
This latest incident happened in downtown Oakland. An altercation erupted between two men, as a BART train was entering the 12th Street Oakland City Center Station. It escalated and one passenger was stabbed multiple times.
The victim was assaulted with a pocketknife on June 3 shortly before 10 p.m. He was transported to a hospital to receive medical treatment for stab wounds.
The suspect identified as Keith J. Davila, who turns 23 on June 12, was detained inside the station by BART police. Davila has lived in San Leandro, although he is presently believed to be a resident of San Francisco.
Davila was transported to Dublin, and booked into Santa Rita Jail on June 4 at 5:04 a.m. He remains in custody in lieu of $30,000 bond. His arraignment is scheduled for June 5 at the East County Hall of Justice.
At this point, Davila faces a felony assault charge PC 245 (A) (1). He was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, with force likely to cause great bodily injury. In addition, he allegedly violated probation related to a prior conviction.
Davila has two prior arrests on his record for robberies involving assaults with a deadly weapon. He was arrested the first time on December 17, 2016. He was arrested a second time on the same charges on April 23, 2017.
