Perhaps some people think that if they are about to be arrested that they might go ahead and give authorities something else to arrest them for. The juvenile in the story apparently did –
“On June 1 at approximately 5:00 p.m. an officer from the Susanville Police Department observed a male juvenile suspect known to them to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest at the intersection of Grand Avenue and First Street.
When the officer attempte to contact the juvenile, the juvenile fled on foot into the rear of a residence around the 1500 block of First street.
While attempting to place the juvenile into custody, the juvenile struck an officer in the face, causing injury.
Both the officer and the juvenile were seen by medical personnel at Banner Lassen medical Center. The officer was treated for his injuries and released.
The juvenile was later booked into Lassen County Juvenile Hall for his outstanding warrant as well as three additional felony charges.
