“Shortly before 2 a.m. on Wednesday June 10, 2020, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call from the 5900 block of Stacy Avenue regarding reports of a shooting.
Deputies responded and located an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Deputies immediately began life saving measures while fire personnel responded. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A second adult male victim, who sustained a gunshot wound to the lower body, was transported to an area hospital by fire personnel. He is expected to survive his injuries.
Homicide detectives responded and believe the shooting was targeted, although a motive is not known at this time. Witness interviews are still being conducted. No suspect information is available.
The identity of the victim in this case will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after identification and notification of next of kin.
