Fresno Man Arrested for Crimes Against Children

31-year old Jesus Tapia was arrested on June 11, 2020 on 30 counts of manufacturing child pornography, five counts of lewd acts with a child under 14, and two counts sexual intercourse with a child under 10. He was booked at Fresno County Jail with bail set at $1,040,000.

Tapia was contacted after he was connected to viewing and downloading more than 100 videos of children, including toddlers, being raped. Before his arrest, detectives of the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served a search warrant at a home on the 5100 block of East Olive Avenue.

Videos were discovered showing Tapia sexually assaulting a child. The child was identified and removed from further abuse.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office stresses the significance of this arrest. There has been a substantial increase in the distribution and possession of child pornography.
