The joys of parenthood may well have eluded the mother and father of 34-year-old Oak View resident Robert Patrick Bowe on the evening of June 16th. It was just after 9:00 p.m. when the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Ojai Station received a 911 Emergency Dispatch call reporting a violent attack upon a 63-year-old husband and his 66-year-old wife, both of whom had sustained stabbing injuries.
According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Det. Craig Hennes, responding deputies learned that Bowe “lived at the residence when he attacked his parents in an unprovoked assault.”
As Bowe’s parents were transported to a local area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, deputies determined that Bowe had “fled the residence prior to the arrival of authorities,” and the hunt for him was on.
Several hours of late-night searching throughout the area proved fruitless. Detectives then turned to social media outlets to broadcast a description of Bowe as having multiple tattoos on his neck and both arms, including tattoos on both eyelids.
Bowe was located and contact with him was made by deputies on June 17th, at which point he was taken into custody and transported to Ventura County Jail. He remains held on multiple charges of assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder, with his bail terms currently undisclosed.
