Robert Fuller’s Half-Brother Shoots at Deputies During Domestic Violence Investigation
Overview
ROSAMOND – Los Angeles county Deputies investigating a domestic violence incident arrived
on the 3400 block of 15th Street West, Rosamond Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at approximately 4:33
P.M.
The incident involved domestic violence, assault with a deadly weapon, terrorist threats and false
imprisonment, by the brother of Robert Fuller, found hanged at 3AM last week across from Palmdale
City Hall.
Palmdale Sheriff’s Station Detetectives were investigating the case, and the L.A. County District District Attorney’s Office had filed 12 felony charges against the kidnap-domestic-assault suspect, who had an active warrant for his arrest.
“The suspect was identified as 31 year old Terron Jammal Boone, of Palmdale,” said Deputy James
Nagao. “It was reported that he was the half-brother of Robert Fuller, who had been discovered hanging from a tree on June 10, 2020 and is currently the subject of a death investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau and the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner – Coroner.”
Palmdale Detectives enlisted the help of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes
Bureau-Surveillance Apprehension Team, to locate and arrest the suspect. Deputies encountered the
suspect reportedly armed with a reportedly black, semi-automatic handgun when he assaulted the
victim.
Homicide Investigators have learned that Detectives observed a man matching the wanted suspect’s
description, seated in the front passenger’s seat of a blue SUV driven by a female unrelated to the crime being investigated. A traffic stop was effected to ID the suspect and arrest him.
“As the vehicle came to a stop inside the parking lot of an apartment complex on 15th Street West, the
suspect opened the front passenger door of the vehicle and fired several shots at the deputies, from a
black, semi-automatic handgun, impacting a detective’s vehicle,” said Deputy Nagao.
“Three Detectives and their field supervisor returned fire, striking the suspect numerous times in the
upper torso,” Deputy Nagao said. “The suspect was taken into custody. Paramedics responded to provide emergency medical treatment, however the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. The
suspect’s handgun was recovered at the scene.”
The female driver, not related to the investigation, who was also struck by gunfire, was transported to a local hospital where whe was treated and released. A passenger in the rear seat of the vehicle, a seven- year-old girl, was uninjured.
The deceased suspect was positively identified as Terron Jammal Boone (31) – the half-brother of Robert Fuller – who shares the same mother, by the Kern County Coroner’s Office. No Deputies were injured. The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at
this time.
Whenever a deputy-involved shooting occurs involving L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies, and a person is
struck by gunfire, multiple independent investigations immediately begin at the scene. These include
separate investigations by the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau and Internal Affairs Bureau.
The LASD immediately notifies the Office of the Inspector General who sends a representative to the incident scene and provides independent oversight throughout the investigative process. Once concluded, a preliminary review is conducted by the Critical Incident Review Panel to determine whether any immediate actions are warranted. Every aspect of the shooting is reviewed by the Sheriff’s Executive Force Review Committee. Input from Constitutional Policing Advisors is provided during the process.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Justice System Integrity Division, conducts a legal
analysis to determine whether any criminal charges will be filed and if the shooting was legally justified.
