A 22-year-old Willits man has been arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl on multiple occasions last year and as recently as this month.
The victim and her parents called a meeting with Mendocino County Sheriff’s deputies on June 8 regarding an incident of alleged abuse at a family event in Redwood Valley two days prior.
Detectives quickly identified Juan Diego Vazquez-Cendejas as the primary suspect.
On June 10, detectives and patrol deputies joined up to interview Vazquez-Cendejas, as well as serve a search warrant at his residence in Willits, ultimately coming away with sufficient probable cause to take him into custody.
Vazquez-Cendejas was booked at the Mendocino County Jail on suspicion of sexual abuse of a minor and continuous sexual abuse of a minor under 14 years of age, with bond set at $200,000.
