The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office came upon a suspicious vehicle and it resulted in an arrest –
“As a deputy on patrol, you never quite know what you are going to find as you investigate a “suspicious vehicle.”
In this particular case, deputies were dispatched to check on a vehicle in the area of Old Pond Lane that appeared to be occupied by male that was not known to the neighborhood.
Once deputies arrived on scene, they immediately noticed several pieces of mail inside the vehicle that were addressed to different names and various addresses throughout the county. Upon further searching of the vehicle, additional items of suspected stolen property were located that included mailbox keys, a class ring, prescription medication, checks and credit cards. In addition to these items, drug paraphernalia including syringes, pipes and suspected methamphetamine were also located.
The occupant of the vehicle, David Daly – 40 years of age from Grass Valley, was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility. A bail enhancement was approved by the court and Daly is currently being held on $100,000 bail.
All of the found property was booked into our property unit as we attempt to locate the rightful owners and return the items.”
