SAN PABLO— The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of a fugitive wanted for a murder. Sheriff’s deputies and U.S. Marshals are seeking to arrest 30-year-old Angelo Ramirez.
Authorities believe Ramirez, a resident of San Pablo, may be receiving assistance to avoid apprehension. Anyone associated with harboring Ramirez may be arrested for being an accessory to murder after the fact.
Ramirez allegedly committed a fatal shooting that occurred outside a liquor store in Rodeo. The victim was shot to death on April 24 shortly before 8 p.m.
Olajawon Walker, 24 of Rodeo, was found lying on the pavement in a pool of blood. First responders pronounced him dead at the scene on the 1000 block of Mariposa Avenue.
It seems the victim had his own problems with the law prior to being shot to death. Walker had multiple prior arrests for pimping, false imprisonment, and other offenses.
Detectives investigating the case subsequently identified Ramirez as the suspect in Walker’s slaying. The case was presented to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office which charged Ramirez with murder. A warrant was issued for Ramirez’s arrest.
Ramirez should be considered armed and dangerous. Authorities advise the publc not to approach him, and anyone who sees him to phone 911 immediately.
