Three Men in a Stolen Car Arrested at a Shopping Center Parking Lot

MILL VALLEY—Marin County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested three men and returned a stolen vehicle to its rightful owner. The suspects aroused suspicion by stopping and parking outside a closed shopping center.

Nothing was open for business at the Strawberry Village Shopping Center, located at Redwood Highway and Frontage Road. Nevertheless, the suspects drove into the shopping center on June 30 shortly before 9:30 p.m.

A deputy noticed the car in the parking lot and conducted what began as a routine license plate check. Sure enough, it turns out the 1993 Honda Acura was reported stolen the day before in San Francisco.
More deputies arrived on the scene and searched the car and its three occupants.

This search turned up fentanyl and methamphetamine, and the kind of pipe used for smoking it.

Nailed. The drugs were seized as evidence and the three individuals were handcuffed and given a ride to Marin County Jail. However, they are no longer in custody.

All three men were booked for grand theft of a vehicle. Two are from San Francisco, 22-year-old Sean G. Betty and 35-year-old Guillermo Luna. The third man is Alfonso A. Velazquez, 29 of Santa Rosa.

Betty was also arrested for –
11364(A) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

273.6(A) Disobeying Domestic Relations Court Order
148.9(A) Giving False Information to a Peace Officer

In addition, Luna was booked for –
11350(A) Possession of Narcotic Controlled Substance

Velazquez was also arrested for –
