One Suspect Arrested, One Still On The Loose: Robbery And Assault At A Fruit Stand
The afternoon of July 4th , a Tulare County Sheriff’s Office detective was in the area of Road 204
and Avenue 256 in Exeter when he observed a dark colored sedan driving recklessly.
As he approached the intersection, the detective was notified of a robbery at a nearby fruit stand. The
two male suspects that robbed the fruit stand had just taken off in a car which matched the
description of the sedan he observed driving recklessly.
There was a short pursuit before 25-year old Joshua Robert Lindsey was arrested for his
involvement in the robbery of the fruit stand. Lindsey and another man, still on the loose, beat up
the fruit stand vendor, a 65-year old man, before taking his money.
As of the time of this writing, Lindsey remains in custody at the Adult Pre-Trial Facility. He
could be charged with evading an officer, assault with a deadly weapon, second degree robbery,
dissuading a witness from testifying, possession of marijuana for sale, sale or transportation of
marijuana, and defrauding an innkeeper by non-payment of $400 or less. His bail is set at
$110,000.
The 65-year old victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
