WALNUT CREEK — One suspect has been arrested in connection with a recent shooting outside a shopping center. The man arrested is one of two suspects who fled from the scene, where two victims were left wounded.
Multiple gunshots were fired in broad daylight on May 21. This shoot out occurred in the parking lot at San Miguel Center, located on Newell Avenue.
A surveillance camera recorded two men with handguns, wearing masks, approach a parked car and immediately shoot a male passenger.
The driver who was inside the car with one of the victim’s returned fire at the two assailants. Two other cars parked nearby were struck, and an innocent bystander sitting inside one of them was also wounded.
The two suspects fled from the scene in a light-colored sedan. Walnut Creek detectives later identified 19-year-old Fayshaun Segi, as one of the two suspects wanted.
Segi was arrested in Antioch by Walnut Creek PD on July 7. He was located with assistance from the FBI Safe Streets Gang Task Force, Antioch PD, Daly City PD and San Francisco PD.
Detectives also recovered three firearms, several high-capacity magazines, more than two pounds of cannabis and evidence of identity theft.
Segi was booked at the Martinez Detention Center on suspicion of attempted murder, and bond for his release was set at $1.1 million.
When Segi was apprehended, another man who was with him, Lovell Bronson, 20 of Antioch, was also arrested.
At this point, Bronson faces charges for unlawful possession of firearms, possession of marijuana for sale, and identity theft.
