Four people were arrested in Granite Bay early this month in two separate identity theft cases, respectively.
A Placer County Sheriff’s deputy pulled a vehicle over at the intersection of Barton and Olive Ranch Roads after the driver failed to come to a complete stop.
The driver, 35-year-old Sarah Huber of Antelope, turned out to be on probation for identity theft out of Yolo County. Her passenger, 34-year-old Jonathan Villarreal of Roseville, was already on parole for burglary.
Upon conducting a search, the deputy reportedly found a man’s wallet containing an ID, a debit card, and a social security card in Huber’s purse. The deputy also found screenshots of around 45 credit card numbers saved from a credit card number generating app on Villarreal’s phone, as well as photos of about 40 identities.
A text message thread discovered between Huber and Villarreal also turned up about 19 more identity profiles.
Both were ultimately arrested and booked on suspicion of conspiracy and identity theft.
In the second incident, around 2 AM on Thursday, July 2, a deputy pulled a vehicle over for its apparent lack of front or rear license plates.
The driver, Randa Martin (34), and passenger, Jason Toy (36), both turned out to be on probation out of Sacramento County — Martin for receiving stolen property and Toy for possession of narcotics.
The deputy conducted a search of the vehicle and located a stolen checkbook, methamphetamine, and a glass pipe. In the checkbook, the deputy found a check written out to Martin and two carbon copies of checks written out to Toy, one of which he had successfully cashed.
Both were arrested and booked on suspicion of identity theft and conspiracy.
