The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office posted a recent press release about the arrest of two men on various weapons related charges –

“The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division served two search warrants yesterday, after a lengthy investigation into the illegal possession and manufacturing of firearms by two brothers.

Detectives arrested 44-year-old James Lauderdale of Salinas after executing a search warrant in the 500 blk of McAllister Street in the city of Salinas. Over 15 firearms, thousands of rounds of ammunition were seized, and evidence James Lauderdale was manufacturing firearms.

Later that evening detectives executed a search warrant on Monteclaire Place in the unincorporated area of Prunedale at the residence of 55-year-old Robert Lauderdale.

During a search of the residence, detectives located over 20 firearms, thousands of rounds of ammunition and evidence Robert Lauderdale was manufacturing destructive devices.

Firearms located at both locations were determined to be stolen during a residential burglary in the city of Salinas.

James and Robert Lauderdale were both arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail on several weapons related charges.
