July 6, 2020 – Santa Barbara, Ca.
Apparently so inebriated that she didn’t know when enough was enough, 32-year-old Santa Barbara resident Alexis Kirchner found herself in a WRAP straight jacket on the night of July 3rd after an episode of drunken mayhem.
It all started when, according to Santa Barbara Police Department spokesperson Marylinda Arroyo, Kirchner repeatedly “rammed” her green Subaru into a car parked on a downtown street. Witness reports brought SBPD patrol units to the scene, by which time Kirchner had driven away from the scene and was nowhere to be seen.
But as patrol officers interviewed the driver of the parked car—who was behind the wheel at the time of the incident and who reportedly “had a prior relationship” with Kirchner—the green
Subaru returned to the scene, heading directly toward the cops at a high rate of speed, “forcing
them to jump out of the way to avoid being hit.”
When verbally commanded to bring the Subaru to a halt, Kirchner “flashed her middle finger” at the police and sped off, driving the wrong way down a one-way street.
Officers pursued the Subaru, conducted a forced traffic stop, and “found several empty cans of
beer” inside the car. Kirchner was taken into custody.
While en route to Santa Barbara Police Headquarters, Kirchner “became aggressive” inside the patrol vehicle and then physically attacked the uniformed officers when they opened the doors to extract her.
At that point, Kirchner was placed in “a WRAP restraining device” for her protection and for the protection of others.
Kirchner was then transported to Santa Barbara County Jail, where she was booked on charges
of assault with a deadly weapon, assault on a peace officer, felony vandalism, domestic battery,
resisting a peace officer, and driving under the influence, with her bail set at $50,000.
