The Benicia Police Department arrested two people and confiscated a handgun in a recent incident-
“Two people arrested and a stolen handgun discovered during a check on an illegally parked vehicle on Lake Herman Road in the early morning hours Tuesday.
During the interaction between the officers and the occupants, they noticed expended casings on the floor board of the vehicle. The driver was found to be on probation and the passenger had three outstanding arrest warrants.
During the search of the vehicle, officers found more spent and unspent casings on the floor board and center console as well as a fold-able blade. They then located a loaded handgun in the tall grass nearby the vehicle. The rounds inside the gun match the ones found. The gun was also found to be stolen.
Both people were arrested and booked into Solano County jail without incident. We are glad that this ended peacefully and that a stolen gun is now off the streets.
