Here is the first of two press releases from the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office about discovering illegal marijuana grow sites –
“On July 7th, 2020, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Unit served two unrelated search warrants for illegal marijuana cultivation.
The first site was located in the 3000 block of Tree Lane in Wilseyville. Deputies seized 808 growing marijuana plants and over 200 pounds of processed marijuana. Investigators estimate the value of eradicated marijuana exceeds $700,000. No suspects were located at the site; however, the investigation is ongoing.
The second site was located in the 4000 block of Blue Mountain Road in Wilseyville. Deputies seized 231 growing marijuana plants and 64 grams of processed marijuana. Investigators estimate the value of eradicated marijuana exceeds $160,000. No suspects were located at the scene, however, the investigation is ongoing.
On July 15th, 2020, an unrelated search warrant was served for illegal marijuana cultivation at a site located in the 2000 block of Stallion Way in Angels Camp. Deputies seized 722 growing marijuana plants with an estimated value exceeding $505,000. No suspects were located at the scene, however, the investigation is ongoing.
On July 16th, 2020, two unrelated search warrants were served for illegal marijuana cultivation. The first site was located in the 9000 block of Whiskey Slide Road in Mountain Ranch. Deputies seized 2,239 growing marijuana plants, 23 pounds of processed marijuana, 10 grams of methamphetamine, 10 meth pipes, and 1 firearm. Investigators estimate the value of eradicated marijuana exceeds 938,000. Additionally, this site was eradicated in 2017, and deputies seized 4,573 marijuana plants at that time. Two suspects were located at the scene and placed under arrest.
Jessica Leigh Odle, age 33 of Galt, was booked into the Calaveras County Jail on charges of 11358 H&S Illegal Marijuana Cultivation (Misdemeanor), 11366 H&S Maintaining a Premises to Sell a Controlled Substance (Felony), 11377 H&S Possession of a Controlled Substance (Misdemeanor), and 182 PC Conspiracy to Commit Crime (Felony). Odle was released on July 17th, 2020, on $100,000 bail.
Jose Carlos Davila, age 25 of Galt, was booked into the Calaveras County Jail on charges of 11358 H&S Illegal Marijuana Cultivation (Misdemeanor), 11370.1(A) H&S Possession of a Controlled Substance while Armed (Felony), 11366 H&S Maintaining a Premises to Sell a Controlled Substance (Felony), and 182 PC Conspiracy to Commit Crime (Felony). Davila was released on July 17th, 2020, on $100,000 bail.
The second site eradicated on July 16th was located in the 16000 block of Hwy 26 in Glencoe. Deputies seized 106 growing marijuana plants and 8 pounds of processed marijuana. Investigators estimate the value of eradicated marijuana exceeds $139,000. No suspects were located at the scene; however, the investigation is ongoing. This site had also been previously eradicated in 2018 and 2019.”
