At 4:20 AM on July 28th , Porterville Police Officers were conducting a court compliance check
and search for Miguel Rodriguez. Rodriguez was wanted for six active warrants for kidnapping,
auto theft, criminal threats, and various narcotic violations. Officers found Rodriguez at a
residence on the 300 block of South Plano Street.
Rodriguez wasn’t the only one found at the residence. 57-year old Danny Steely was present as well and found in possession of a controlled substance for sale and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested for these violations.
67-year old James Salas was also among the group. He was arrested on two active narcotic related arrest warrants.
Lastly, 34-year old Cynthia Leyba was arrested for one active narcotic related arrest warrant.
During the search, officers came across a vehicle confirmed stolen by the California Highway Patrol. Evidence supported Rodriguez was the one in possession of the stolen car and had used it during the commission of a theft on the 800 block of East Mohoff Court on July 23rd .
39-year old Rodriguez was arrested for the six confirmed arrest warrants, looting, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
He was booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office South County Detention
Facility.
He remains in custody as of the time of this writing at the Adult Pre-Trail facility in Visalia with bail set at $310,000.
