On Monday July 27, at 7:30 p.m., 19-year-old Juan Ramirez knocked on his neighbor’s door and, when the neighbor answered, proceeded to attack him.
Ramirez hit the 35-year-old victim with both fists, kicked him, and used two rocks the size of baseballs to hit him in the face.
The suspect then “dragged the victim across his property after the initial attack,” being captured on surveillance cameras through it all.
The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department explains, “As a result, the victim was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. His injuries included abrasions on the top and back of his head, minor cuts and bruises throughout his body, broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and a ruptured eardrum. He was awaiting exams to determine if he also had a broken left jaw and broken left wrist at the time of the initial report.”
Ramirez was booked and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, felony battery and mayhem.
