After two murder cases in two different states, FBI investigators have named the suspect in both cases to be Roy Den Hollander, a men’s rights and self-described “anti-feminist” attorney from New York.

Den Hollander is believed to have taken his own life hours after the second incident. Investigators found a list he had made that included over a dozen possible murder targets.

The first murder took place in San Bernardino County on Saturday, July 11, 2020.  Upon Twin Peaks deputies’ arrival shortly after 4 PM, they found an unresponsive Marc Angelucci suffering from gunshot wounds outside his home, located at 22400 Glenwood Drive.

Angelucci was given medical aid, but it was too late.  He was pronounced deceased at the scene.  At the time, no suspect or motive for the crime had been identified, though it was known that the shooter was wearing a FedEx uniform.

On July 20th, a shooter dressed as a FedEx worker opened fire at the home of US District Court Judge Esther Salas in New Jersey.  The shots killed her 20-year-old son, Daniel Anderl, and left her husband, Mark Anderl, with critical injuries.

That same day, “[San Bernardino] Homicide detectives began working with Investigators in the Newark FBI office to determine if there was a connection to the murder of Marc Angelucci and members of Judge Salas’ family in New Jersey,” according a press release by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department.  Two days later, the FBI determined that the two murder cases were connected.

“On Thursday, July 23rd, Homicide detectives received information regarding additional evidence that tied the suspect, Roy Den Hollander, to the murder of Marc Angelucci,” the release stated.

Angelucci was a men’s rights lawyer and the vice president of a men’s rights group called the National Coalition for Men.  Den Hollander appeared to view Angelucci as rival, jealous of his victory in a particular lawsuit.

Investigation revealed that on July 7th, Den Hollander got off a train at the San Bernardino train station and rented a car.  He drove the car to Angelucci’s home on the 11th, when he committed the murder.  He fled immediately and left the state by boarding a train at Union Station in Los Angeles.

Den Hollander’s grudge against Judge Salas appeared to stem from his perception that she was not prioritizing one of his cases.  His rage escalated when she canceled a scheduled hearing for one of his lawsuits.

Shortly following the shooting in New Jersey on July 20th, Den Hollander’s body was found off a road in upstate New York.  Evidence pointed to suicide by gunshot to the head.  The aforementioned hit list was found in his rental car, parked nearby.
